Project Description
The goal of this thesis is to investigate the technical, organizational, and regulatory requirements for integrating Agentic AI and chatbot systems into a tax-regulatory software environment. You will analyze which compliance requirements (including GDPR, ISO 27001, and banking supervisory regulations) must be met for the secure use of AI in the financial services sector. Furthermore, you will evaluate various operating and licensing models for AI systems—ranging from commercial third-party models to building in-house AI solutions. Your work will provide a well-founded basis for decision-making regarding our long-term AI strategy in a product context.
Motivation & Relevance
The integration of agent-based AI functionalities and chatbot systems into software solutions for processing withholding tax reclaims is a central challenge for the future viability of financial service providers. - Analysis of the regulatory and technical framework for using Agentic AI and chatbots in withholding tax processing.
- Identification and evaluation of compliance requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, banking supervisory regulations) and their impact on AI integration.
- Examination of operating models (e.g., cloud-based, on-premise, hybrid) and licensing options (commercial models vs. in-house development).
- Evaluation of these models with regard to costs, technical feasibility, regulatory risks, and long-term operational reliability.
- Development of a concept ensuring that human users retain final decision-making authority.
- Documentation, final report, and, if applicable, scientific evaluation of the results.
- Strong German and English skills in both written and spoken form.

In the implementation, you can combine current technologies with proven standards, try out new things, and develop yourself further. You will mainly work with technologies based on Microsoft .NET with a focus on ASP.NET, C#, and SQL. Visual Studio 2022 is our development platform, and Azure DevOps is used for planning and source code management.
